Zumba Fitness Reviews

Zumba is a “get fit” program inspired by Lain dance maestro Alberto Perez. A mixture of salsa, samba, mambo, belly dancing and even Bollywood style body movement, Zumba is guaranteed to get you moving if not immediately fit. My Zumba fitness reviews are from my personal experience of roughly half a dozen class. And I feel generally positive about it.

The latest craze to hit the lose weight and fitness world, everyone seems to be doing it. There’s a class on every corner and you can’t stop people dancing.

Like it or not, it’s got people talking, losing weight and having fun. There’s a video game and nearly 100,000 classes take place every week across the globe. 10 million people can be wrong, but they’re not in this case.

From a fitness perspective Zumba Fitness is pretty good. People think all they have to do is a minor amount of physical exertion and that’s exercise. Well, walking to the store may burn off an extra 25 calories but to bump up your metabolism, your heart rate and start burning the fat you must really move. It must be a challenge, otherwise it’s pretty pointless and your body won’t be inclined to make any changes.

Will Zumba get you moving? Yes it will.

You can tell this has been created by someone who knows their onions. Think about when you do some cardio. Whether it’s at the gym or in an aerobics class. When you start out, it nearly kills you. You’re sweating and out of breath. And your body aches for days. But the more you do the same workout, the easier it becomes. And that’s great right? Yeah, mostly. The thing is, your body becomes used to it. And you hit a plateau. And what’s the best way to get over that hump?

Interval training! That’s where Zumba is so great. The dance inspired fitness program is just chock full of interval style training. Fast, slow, fast again. It’ll keep you moving in a productive way. And there’s one more reason that it’s an absolutely brilliant method of getting fit and losing weight.

It’s fun.

Only the most stodgy of us don’t like dancing, especially Latin style. Add in some energetic music and motivation levels will shoot through the roof because it won’t seem so much like hard work. It’s like going to a dance class and the end result is being thinner. Plus you learn how to dance. Well, not really, but almost.

Not all workouts are created equal and Zumba is the same. Want to concentrate on your glutes? Or your abs? Just fine. There’s a Zumba program for you. Haven’t got time for a full on workout? There’s even a program for the busy bees among you.

Contained within the Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set are programs that everyone can enjoy:

Zumba Basics
Zumba Express Workout
Sculpt and Tone
Cardio Party
Fitness Live and
The Flat Abs Workout

All on 4 DVD’s and it comes with 2 toning sticks, you’ll feel like you’re shaking your maracas!

It’s got to be said that Zumba Fitness alone won’t be enough to send you spiralling into awesome toned body heaven, but is an excellent addition to you fitness regime. In my opinion, yes it can replace a workout, but don’t think that 1 session a week will cure all your weight woes.

You’ll still need a healthy diet, drink even more water than you did previously (you’ll need it during the workouts, trust me) and I would still recommend a program of light weight lifting to tone and create lean muscle.

My Zumba Fitness reviews point to this being more than just a fad weight loss program.
